Phillip Cooke: AmesburyTruth’s New VP of Sales

July 15, 2024

Promoted to the Executive Leadership Team in April 2024, Phillip Cooke has been with AmesburyTruth since 2015. His roles have included Channel Management, where he was instrumental in setting up the company’s distribution network, and Director of Product Management, Seals & Extrusions where he focused on improving quality, domestic capacity, and innovative solutions.

According to AmesburyTruth CEO Bob Burns, Cooke’s promotion is part of the company’s generational change. “We want to see the new generation of fenestration leaders begin to shape our future by leveraging technology.” says Burns. “Phillip’s expertise and leadership have already delivered results.”

Cooke has been responsible for the restructuring of the company’s Commercial Demand Planning team, which is now set up by product category versus by manufacturing facility. The team now has subject matter experts focused on categories of products; they study trends and purchasing habits, and cultivate customer relationships.

“The revitalized department will be the key contributor to ensuring AmesburyTruth has the right product, at the right location, and at the right time,” says Cooke.

While Channel Manager, Cooke was a key partner in the creation and launch of EVO Systems, a cloud-based distributor with sophisticated supply chain and e-commerce capabilities for a broad range of AmesburyTruth customers.

“Cooke brings much needed insight and focus,” says Bob Hornung, President of EVO Systems. “His continued guidance and support in his new role will create opportunities for all. We stand with him and the entire company as they make their digital transformation.”

Cooke has also been instrumental in the company-wide, multi-year implementation of SAP and its companion tool, Integrated Business Planning or IBP. (Read that story here.)

“IBP is a state-of-the-art forecasting tool that uses AI to assist in predicting future demand,” says Cooke. “IBP, coupled with SAP, allows us to leverage technology to improve customer service. With IBP, we can forecast by customer part number,  their location, and our distribution facility – utilizing the raw transaction data and statistical formulas to project future demand trends.”

Cooke stated that he is excited to get out in front of customers to share more about their journey, discuss new innovative products they’ve recently launched, and find additional opportunities to help streamline engagements between all parties.

“Several customers I spoke with early on are contemplating investing in a new ERP software because they’ve recognized the need to also digitally transform their businesses to compete in the future. I’m more than willing to share the things I’ve learned throughout this process. We’re still not where we want to be, but the trends are moving in the right direction. I’m excited to share the good news with our customers.”

Previous to joining AmesburyTruth in 2015, Cooke worked for Guardian Building Products, where he held the role of Product Sales Specialist, and then Sales Operations Specialist. Cooke is also a certified Fenestration Associate with the FGIA.

He’s currently completing an MBA from Clemson University (Graduating Aug. 2024), and holds a BA in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University. As part of his MBA, he participated in a study abroad program at the University of Oxford where he studied international business and cross-cultural leadership.
