ColorCoat Forms Partnership with Axolotl
In operation for 30 years, Australian company Axolotl has developed a unique application technique for applying 100% recycled metal, concrete and terra cotta on a variety of substrates, including wood, compact laminate, and aluminum, to name a few. The company, which has won numerous awards for its work, chose ColorCoat as its North American partner.
According to ColorCoat president David Whisenhunt, the company provided displays at the 2024 International Builders’ Show (IBS) for Amarr garage doors, as well as entry pivot doors for Panda, Mastergrain, and Weather Shield.
“We wanted to demonstrate that consumers can have entry and garage doors made of the same finish,” says Whisenhunt. Finishes include pewter, copper, steel, zinc, and concrete, and come in a wide variety of textures.
Axolotl gets its name from the unique amphibian that can only be found in freshwater lakes around Mexico City. The Axolotl makes a cute pet because breeders can help it morph into a different color and even texture.
